Sunday is here, and with it comes one of the biggest regular season matchups on the NFL’s 2025 schedule. In today’s late afternoon window, the NFL gets a nationally televised game — a rematch of last year’s
AFC Championship Game that features two of the league’s best teams and best quarterbacks.
Yes, it’s the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs, who have faced off nine times in the past five seasons from 2020 to 2024. They have played in each of the last five regular seasons, then met in the playoffs four times — twice each in the Divisional Playoffs and in the AFC title game. Oddly, these teams have a remarkable regular season/postseason split, with Buffalo winning the last four regular season games but the Chiefs taking each of those four playoff games. Today’s game features the Chiefs as narrow favorites despite traveling to Buffalo.
Although that’s the big game on the schedule today, there are some other interesting matchups across the league. In the early time slot, the Green Bay Packers host the Carolina Panthers, but there is also an NFC North contest taking place with the Minnesota Vikings visiting the Detroit Lions. Arguably the most intriguing game in the early time slot is in the AFC, where division-leading Indianapolis and Pittsburgh square off. Finally, the day wraps up in prime time with the Seahawks visiting the Commanders.
