Make it 19 Iowa State players that are following Matt Campbell to Penn State. This time, it’s wide receiver Zay Robinson.
Robinson, a 3-star player in the 2025 class, was one of the top players in Iowa in his cycle. Robinson held offers from Iowa, Colorado, Kansas State, and Vanderbilt. The No. 11 player in Iowa, and 148th wide receiver per 247, Robinson looks to make an impact in a wide receiver group that has plenty of opportunity.
With senior Trebor Peña, Kyron Hudson, and Devonte Ross now off to their next adventure, plus the departures of some of the receivers with eligibility left, you’re left with Koby Howard and Tyseer Denmark as the only returning players with meaningful experience. This allows players like Robinson an opportunity to carve himself a role with the Nittany Lions in 2026.
Robinson redshirted in 2025, after logging one reception in the game against BYU. He’ll have four years of eligibility remaining.
