Bayern Munich winger Luis Díaz had himself a match.
The Colombian lost possession early on and did not hustle to try and win the ball back or even defend, which directly led to Bayer Leverkusen’s only goal. He also scored Bayern Munich’s only goal after he received a perfectly slotted pass from Michael Olise.
For good measure, Díaz picked up two yellow cards and will be suspended for Bayern Munich next Bundesliga match against Union Berlin next Saturday. Even when tallying up all of that, fans (somehow)
still voted Díaz as Man of the Match…and by a wide margin:
In reality, this game could have been 4-1 or 5-1 if not for the play of goalkeeper Sven Ulreich. The veteran was on-point in filling in for both Manuel Neuer and Jonas Urbig. Ulreich had six total saves, including four inside the box. The only goal that Ulreich allowed was on a deflected shot that nicked center-back Jonathan Tah on its way to the net.
Ulreich had no chance to stop the re-direction, but even if he did, fans might not have voted for him anyway.
