Columbus Clippers 7, St. Paul Saints 1
It was a dominant performance from the Clippers both offensively and defensively. Kahlil Watson hit a 3 run home run. Travis Bazzana went 0-2 but he was able to draw three walks. Johnathan Rodriguez went 1-3 with a 2 run home run. Petey Halpin also went 1-3 with two walks and two RBIs.
Ryan Webb had an outstanding outing. He struck out 8 batters and gave up just one run in 5.0 innings pitched. It’s been a nightmare season for Triston McKenzie but he bounced back
tonight with a scoreless inning in relief, the same can be said for Trevor Stephan, who also had a nice outing.
Akron RubberDucks 5, Harrisburg Senators 1
Ralphy Velazquez continues to be one of the best hitters in minor league baseball over the last few months. He went 2-5 tonight with a double, and he is now hitting .347 with an OPS of 1.063. What he is doing is maybe the most exciting development of this minor league season. Angel Genao went 1-3 with a triple and a walk. Christian Knapczyk went 2-4 with a double and a walk.
Rorik Maltrud didn’t record a strikeout, but he was still very effective as he didn’t allow a single run in 5.0 innings pitched.
