Cayden Reese, Maryland women’s lacrosse’s incoming top-ranked class of 2026 recruit, has starred on the high school scene for years. And the highly-touted attacker added another accolade to her decorated career Wednesday.
Reese was named the USA Lacrosse Girls’ National Player of the Year, becoming the third consecutive Maryland high school player to receive the honor.
In her senior season at Maryvale, Reese recorded 60 goals and 35 assists while leading the Lions to the IAAM A Conference title. She also collected 40 draw controls, showcasing the versatility that has made her one of the nation’s premier recruits.
With her prolific shooting and off-ball dodging skills, Reese could make an immediate impact in her freshman season. Her arrival comes as Maryland looks to replace several key goal scorers from last season.
