The Arizona Cardinals have had rough luck with defensive linemen taken in round one in the NFL Draft.
Obviously Robert Nkemdiche was long enough ago to not matter, but last year they took Darius Robinson who couldn’t get healthy, then had the tragic loss of his mother heading into the season during his time to try and get healthy.
So, today John Gambadoro talked about Walter Nolen, it was a bit of a disappointment:
That is not ideal, but obviously with how the Arizona Cardinals have invested in the position it won’t kill them on the field.
However, it does hurt if he goes on the IR designated to return for his early development, because he will have missed all of his first preseason and then missed the first four games minimum.
However, as Jess Root has explained, with Nolen on the PUP, he doesn’t need to go on IR, he can just start the season on PUP and that doesn’t take away from one of their IR designated to return.
The reason that is important is because right now the Arizona Cardinals could need to designate second year tackle Christian Jones and also rookie Hayden Conner who went down on Saturday against the Denver Broncos.
