As football season quickly approaches, the looming question in Jacksonville is, “Can they do it again?”
Under a new regime led by head coach Liam Coen, the Jaguars enjoyed a one-year turnaround in 2025, improving from 4-13 to 13-4 during the regular season. Considering the youth
of the roster, they ought to be able to carry that momentum into 2026… yet the Jags haven’t fielded consecutive playoff teams since the ‘90s.
“We haven’t done anything to rest on our laurels here,” Coen said at Day 1 of training camp. “Last year was about finding an edge. And creating an edge. And now we are attacking these edges with a relentless pursuit.”
“At the end of the day, we know we want to go play anywhere, anytime, anybody, doesn’t matter. And our mindset is we got to go prove it, and go earn it, because consistency is the truest measure of performance at the end of the day. There’s a lot of guys in this locker room that, when I took this job, you know, they brought that up. How do we become a consistent, respected organization? That’s what this is all about.”
