Arsenal are reportedly weighing options regarding one of their wingers as they will need to reassess their squad for financial reasons at the end of the season.
Left winger and offensive midfielder Leandro Trossard could be on the outside looking in of Mikel Arteta’s plans, and he could be unloaded as soon as next July.
According to SportsBoom, the Belgian international could be available if offers in the region of £20–25 million arrive. Newcastle United and Aston Villa are among the clubs monitoring
the situation, while teams outside England are also keeping track of developments.
“With his contract at Arsenal set to expire in the summer of 2027, Trossard finds himself at the most critical crossroads of his career due to the club’s ‘rejuvenation operation’ and plans for high-profile wing reinforcements,” SportsBoom’s Ekrem Konur wrote. “While the Belgian star’s ‘elite-level’ finishing across both flanks and in the false-nine role has whetted the appetite of many clubs, a ‘wait-and-watch’ policy currently prevails ahead of any official bids.”
Konur linked Newcastle to the Arsenal player, saying that the Magpies are “seeking a name to add depth to their frontline” while monitoring Trossard’s “restricted minutes” at as a reason to believe in such an addition.
Trossard, who joined Arsenal from Brighton in 2023, has been used in multiple attacking roles under Arteta. He remains under contract until 2027 and currently earns around £90,000 per week, with reports suggesting he would expect a higher salary in any new deal elsewhere—and the difficulty it’d pose for Newcastle’s board to sanction a deal.
“Rumours suggest Arsenal may open negotiations for a potential sale at the £20m–£25 million level,” Konur reported, noting that Saudi side Al-Ittihad are “lying in wait” with a projected budget in the €25m–€30 million range.
No formal offers have been reported for now, and Arsenal have not confirmed any decision regarding the 31-year-old’s future.
