What is the story about?
Boy,
that was a memorable game for all sorts of reasons:
- Matt Olson’s homer off the pole
- Signs of life from Sean Murphy, including a dinger of his own
- Outbarreling the Dodgers 5-1
- Drake Baldwin having a huge game, but with his biggest hit coming on a defensive misplay by the Dodgers
- Didier Fuentes walking in the tying run, but then getting what he needs — and escaping a second inning as well
- Victor Mederos, pumped once again
- The “I failed to field it cleanly but knocked the ball in the only direction that would’ve stopped the Braves from scoring” by Mookie Betts.
- The original pinch run for Sean Murphy decision forcing Ha-Seong Kim to the plate for the first time in 15 days…
… and of course, Kim coming through with a solid, 100+ mph, nearly 75+ mph bat speed single to win the game.
Maybe the only competition was the Chadwick Tromp Game (Braves score two in the tenth to tie, including a Tromp RBI, then walk it off via Tromp in the 11th), but that came against the Nationals, so not quite the same level of juice. What do you think?
