The Golden State Warriors recently secured a foundational piece of their backcourt, signing third-year guard Brandin Podziemski to a fully guaranteed five-year, $110 million rookie-scale contract extension. The deal, which includes a mutual option for the final season, keeps the 23-year-old guard in the Bay Area through 2032.
Since being selected 19th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, Podziemski has quickly established himself as an essential hybrid guard for head coach Steve Kerr. Averaging 11.6 points,
5.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists across his first 220 career games, his versatile playmaking, fierce rebounding, and defensive grit made him an indispensable rotational anchor.
By locking down Podziemski before he could hit restricted free agency, the Warriors demonstrate clear trust in his development as a long-term core piece alongside the team’s veteran core.
SB Nation recently conducted a survey of Warriors fans and their opinion of the Podziemski extension. Here’s what they had to say:
What do you think of the Podziemski’s extension? Will it help the Warriors and their quest to obtain a playoff spot in the West? Head on over to https://sportsbook.fanduel.com/navigation/nba to test your luck.
