Good morning, BBN!
We finally have some positive momentum heading into a Kentucky Basketball game.
The Cats looked like they may have found a working system in the second half of the Mississippi State Game.
Really, they snapped into it being down 16-6 to start that game.
One of the main reasons: Malachi Moreno.
He was extremely productive in place of Jayden Quaintance, and it wasn’t just about his stats; it was about the effort he was putting out on the floor.
That helped carry the Cats to a victory, which is impressive for a Freshman to set the tone like that.
Sadly, Jaland Lowe is out for the season. You have to respect the effort to try and make it back, but he made the right move for his career.
Now, Coach Pope is faced with a choice: start Jasper Johnson at the point or continue to put Denzel Aberdeen out there.
I think all of BBN knows what’s best, but we will see what he chooses to do today against a struggling LSU team, which has started conference play at 0-3.
