Welcome to another edition of Around the SEC, where everything is made up and the points don’t matter. That’s right, the points are like head-to-head results to the CFP Committee. I will say, though, the points are NOT like strength of schedule for once (looking at you, Notre Dame. Good luck this Saturday, you realllllly need this win).
Florida QB Change
Coming off their loss in the Cocktail Party, Florida will make achange at QB, starting freshman Tramell Jones Jr. over Aaron Philo. Jones replaced
Philo early against Georgia last Saturday, and head coach Jon Sumrall has elected to go with the freshman ahead of their must-win clash with Oklahoma.
Ole Miss Star Ruled Out
Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy has already been ruled out ahead of the Rebels’ big game against Georgia this weekend. Lacy terrorized Georgia in last year’s Sugar Bowl, and his presence will be missed. The Dawgs will be tasked with holding the Ole Miss run game in check, rendering them one dimensional.
Trump Attending Alabama-LSU
Trump will be in attendance for Alabama-LSU in Baton Rouge. No, not that Trump. First Lady Melania Trump will be attendance ahead of an announcement for a $5 million scholarship donation at LSU for those students who have experienced foster care. This is not a political column, so no comments will be made on that front. In regards to football, I’m assuming the headset communications may be disrupted due to Secret Service presence, so we will see which team navigates this the best.
