When the NFL released the 2025 schedule, the Ravens-Chiefs matchup in Week 4 was billed as a clash of the titans: two elite quarterbacks leading Super Bowl contenders in a game that could have a major impact on final playoff seeding and the all-important first-round bye.
Months later, neither team looks ready for the postseason, much less a championship run. Both are 1-2 in their first three games, though their losses have all come to elite teams, one in either conference. Baltimore’s defense is all out
of whack, as is Kansas City’s offense. Both Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes have played well, but haven’t taken control late in the game when it matters most.
The Ravens opened the week as surprising favorites against the Chiefs and remain favored by 2.5 points heading into Sunday’s contest, per FanDuel Sportsbook. It’s hard to reconcile that line with Baltimore’s performance last week, especially heading into Arrowhead Stadium, where they have not won a game since 2012.
In the past, Ravens-Chiefs matchups have been filled with fireworks – long touchdowns, game-changing turnovers, magical QB play – but this week’s game will be decided by which side makes fewer mistakes: penalties, special teams mishaps, turnovers. Sometimes, football can be simple: just hold onto the football!
