Gable Steveson looked in prime form last night (Sat., May 30, 2026) at RAF 09 from inside College Park Center in Arlington, Tex., as the renowned wrestler easily ended former UFC heavyweight contender Alexandr Romanov via technical fall.
Steveson, who has begun preparation for his long-awaited Octagon debut at UFC 329 this July, still decided to roll the dice and join the Real American Freestyle (RAF) mat this weekend in Texas. It was a highly-anticipated debut to say the least considering Steveson is an Olympic
gold medalist and one of the most decorated collegiate wrestlers of all time.
While Romanov is a solid wrestler in his own right the Russian fighter was never going to come close to upsetting Steveson. It didn’t take Steveson long at all to gain the upper hand and put himself in a position to finish the match in the second period. Steveson completed dominated the main event matchup and it only fuels the intrigue leading into his UFC debut this summer.
