Real Oviedo manager Guillermo Almada admitted he was blown away by Lamine Yamal after seeing the teenager score an outrageous goal in Sunday’s game at Camp Nou.
Barcelona ran out 3-0 winners to move back to the top of the table, with Yamal stealing the show with an eye-catching goal.
Almada spoke about Yamal afterwards and showered the teenager with praise.
“We are talking about a player from another galaxy,” he said. “He has so much quality and delivers in key moments in games. He is already a star
that, despite his age, is able to decide matches.”
The Real Oviedo boss also shared his thoughts on the match after overseeing another defeat.
“I feel a little sad. We were having a good game, competing on equal terms, and our mistakes cost us dearly in areas where we couldn’t afford to make them. The caliber of the players we faced wasn’t going to forgive us. Unfortunately, it ended up costing us the game,” he added.
“We were solid. Unfortunately, we made individual errors in dangerous areas and they didn’t forgive us. In the first half, I don’t recall Barcelona having any chances, and after the goals, I only remember one or two more because we took more risks.
“The first half was very evenly matched. It’s not easy to control Barcelona like we did. In our next home game, we have to try to get a win that will give us a boost, whether we play well, averagely, or poorly. It’s extremely important for us.”
Real Oviedo are now four points adrift at the bottom of the table with just 13 points from 21 games.
