The bottom dwellers of the American League Central meet up today in Minnesota for a holiday matinee game to start the final month of baseball (for these two teams). The Twins host the White Sox for a four-game series as part of a week-long road trip.
Earlier today, the White Sox made the following moves as September call-ups run rampant through the league.
Fraser Ellard will also be getting today’s start. We’ll see the best of both worlds with Kyle Teel and Edgar Quero getting at-bats, along with Colson Montgomery, who had a red-hot August. Brooks Baldwin is taking over for Luis Robert in center field.
Bailey Ober (4-7) will start for the Twins. Ober hasn’t had the best season, and carries around an ERA of 5.14. In 119 innings pitched, he has amassed 96 strikeouts.
While Ober might be easy to overcome, Byron Buxton, a known White Sox pain point, likely won’t be.
First pitch is 1:10 p.m. CT. You can watch the game on CHSN or listen on ESPN Chicago 1000.
