During a recent interview, Randy Orton said Ted DiBiase Jr. owes him $25,000, and he wants the debt repaid.
The Viper apparently wasn’t clear enough in his remarks about which Ted he was talking about, because “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase lashed out at Orton on X (Twitter).
Prior to his losing effort against WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes in the main event of night one of WrestleMania 42, Orton sat for an interview with The Schmo at Culture Kings Las Vegas.
During the interview, Orton revealed
he still has four years left on his current WWE contract. He added that after his contract expires, he might take inspiration from The Undertaker and “pop around for WrestleMania every year and then ride until the wheels fall off, literally.”
Another clip from the talk with The Schmo that’s been making the rounds on social media, perhaps due to Orton’s request that fans share it, is him saying DiBiase owes him money.
After talking about being brought up in the wrestling business by his father, “Cowboy” Bob Orton Jr., Randy was asked by The Schmo to name his “Mouth Rushmore of best father-and-son participants” in the WWE.
Following a brief pause, Orton asked the fans inside the venue for help. One person suggested Eddie Guerrero and Dominik Mysterio, playing into old storyline of Eddie claiming that Rey Mysterio is not Dom’s biological father.
Someone else then shouted out “DiBiase,” causing Orton to chuckle.
“DiBiase. Ted owes me twenty-five grand,” Orton then said. “Clip this s**t, put it out there. Maybe he’ll hear it and pay me.”
The comment was indeed clipped and shared on social media, which resulted in a response from The Million Dollar Man himself, who seemed to think Randy was addressing him.
“Randy Orton, I don’t owe you a dime buddy!” the elder DiBiase wrote on X (Twitter). “I think you’ve been hitting the head one too many times and don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.”
Orton then replied to DiBiase with a simple message: “Jr does.”
After The Viper’s clarification about which Ted he was talking about, DiBiase Sr. deleted his X post.
As of press time, Ted Jr. has not responded to Orton’s claim about the $25,000 debt.
The younger DiBiase, who had a stint in WWE and was a member of The Legacy faction led by Randy, was recently in the news after he was found not guilty last month on 13 counts of conspiracy, wire fraud, theft, and money laundering in a case in which Mississippi prosecutors alleged he illegally received $2.9 million in welfare funds and spent the money on luxury goods.
Mississippi’s state auditor indicated after the acquittal that state lawyers will attempt to recover money from DiBiase in civil court.
