Duke has had some amazing teams over the years, but one of the most entertaining teams we’ve ever seen was the 2018-19 Blue Devils.
That team, featuring Jordan Goldwire, Jack White, Cam Reddish, Tre Jones, RJ Barrett, and Zion Williamson, burst on the college scene like a supernova with a total destruction of Kentucky, 118-84.
But before the rest of the country knew what was coming, Duke went on a summer tour of Canada.
Well, mostly Ontario, but north of the border, anyway.
And in this video of Duke
vs. the University of Toronto, 96-60, we started to get a sense of what this team could be. We’re not sure anyone has ever pointed this out, but Toronto nearly gave Duke a better game than Kentucky did.
However, Duke played Toronto without Tre Jones, and that arguably means that the Varsity Blues (that’s their nickname) actually did give Duke a better game than Kentucky.
