Former Maryland women’s basketball player and current Phoenix Mercury star was named first team All-WNBA on Friday, the league announced.
This marks Thomas’ third straight All-WNBA first team selection,
and fourth overall. Thomas and the Mercury fell in WNBA Finals to the Las Vegas Aces Friday, but Thomas still recorded a triple-double of 17 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
This past season, Thomas averaged 15.4 points, a career-high 9.2 assists and 8.8 rebounds. Her 357 total assists passed Caitlin Clark’s single-season record for most assists in a season. Thomas also set a new WNBA mark for triple-doubles in a season with eight, surpassing her own record of six that she set in 2023.
