The Spurs have a 4-0 record to start the season for the first time since 2017.
Last night, the Spurs held the Toronto Raptors to 20 rebounds, the 7th worst in NBA history.
There’s been a lot of development. The team has spent time together and it shows.
Individually, accolades are also beginning to pour in. As mentioned yesterday, Keldon Johnson hit his 2000th rebound.
Victor Wembanyama hit his 1000th field goal. He is the fifth player in history to do that in less than 125 games, joining Zion Williamson,
Blake Griffin, LeBron James, and Vince Carter.
In addition, last night’s game was Wemby’s 89th in a row to tally a block. It came late in the game prompting Jacob Tobey and Sean Elliott to stop speculating in fear of jinxing.
Wemby’s 89th bests Ewing’s 88-game run that ran through the 1990-91 season.
But Ewing also holds the top spot. His 145-game run tops Dikembe Mutombo’s 116 run from the mid-90s and Mark Eaton’s 94-game streak in the mid-80s.
Lots for Wemby to digest.
Aa well as the Spurs. There are many personal and team goals for which to strive.
The real question is – what’s next?
