Joe Cowan: 6/10
Made a really good save down to his left at the death but didn’t have too many other saves to make, with both Ipswich goals coming from good finishes.
Jenson Jones: 7/10
Got forward well really early on, when he drove into the 18-yard box but fired an effort over. Did well defensively, covering at the back post a number of times.
Luke Bell: 6/10
A pretty comfortable first half for a player who has only recently returned from a long term injury, replaced at the break.
Aji Alese: 6/10
Reliable on the ball, won the ball back plenty and looked in good shape.
Was a bit too keen to win the ball back at times though, with the visitors learning to pass the ball around his press and exploit the space he left behind, doing it quickly after the break for their second goal and then a great chance for a third.
Archie Lightfoot: 6/10
Decent at the back and going forward, without really starring at either tonight.
Kay Munyakazi: 7/10
Sat in front of the back four and kept the ball ticking, won it back when needed and contributed going forward too, with a great finish for the fourth goal.
Jack Whittaker: 7/10
Linked up play well in midfield, quickly getting the ball forward for counters and being a nuisance around the Ipswich box.
Felix Scott: 8/10
Caused Ipswich some problems down their right, was always available to drive down the line and pick out a teammate in the box. Got an assist after finding Dinsdale with a cross, then got on the scoresheet himself when Dinsdale repaid the favour.
Tom Proctor: 7/10
Worked extremely hard out of possession, constantly closing down the opposition and covered a lot of ground doing so. Got in good positions to make something happen going forward but I felt he was a little bit too greedy on the ball at times.
Charlie Dinsdale: 10/10
Ran Ipswich ragged in the first half, scored one after Scott picked him out and then beat the left back time and time again, providing three assists.
Trey Ogunsuyi: 7/10
Scored a deserved goal during the first half blitz, putting away a cross from Dinsdale. Could have had one or two others before the break too, especially during one goal mouth scramble. Held the ball up well when we were under the cosh and did a good job from defensive set pieces.

Ben Kindon: 6/10
Did a decent job at the back after replacing Bell at the break.
Jaydon Jones: 6/10
Plenty of running in midfield once he came on, helped prevent a real Ipswich comeback.
Finlay Holcroft: 6/10
Slotted in alongside Kindon in the back four and helped us see out the win.
Marcus Neill: 6/10
Didn’t have any opportunities to get on the scoresheet after coming on but did hassle the full back when he was on the ball.

A late change for Dinsdale, had a half shout for a penalty but the referee probably made the right decision after he went down under a challenge.

Sunderland blitzed Ipswich before the break, with everything coming through Charlie Dinsdale. He was involved in all four goals, scoring one and making the other three. Had his full back on toast and showed a good eye for a pass to pick out a teammate for simple finishes, then got to the back post himself to steer in Felix Scott’s cross to open the scoring.
