Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about the college basketball transfer portal, which is firing on all cylinders. And Mizzou Hoops hasn’t benefitted… at least not as of this moment.
If you’re a site regular, you already know to check the official Transfer Tracker that’s up on the home page, as that’ll get you all the latest confirmed news coming in and going out of Mizzou Hoops. You also probably know to sign up and join us over at RockM.Plus, where the transfer portal board is up-to-date on rumors, speculation
and maybe, just maybe, a few positive hints toward commitments coming soon… just saying!

[Neveah] Caffey averaged 8.5 points as a true freshman on shooting splits of 42/42/81 as an extremely talented three-level scorer. In addition to her scoring, Caffey added 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while starting all 32 games. Her best game as a scorer came late in the season against Penn State, pouring in 18 points on 6-12 shooting from the field and 5-6 from the free throw line. She also dished out five assists against the Nittany Lions to tie her career-high. She was one of only two Indiana players to start every game this past season, finishing the year as the fifth leading scorer on a team that just narrowly missed the postseason.
The “bring home a talented, but young local talent through the portal” has become a tried and true strategy across college sports. And I’m not all that mad about it.

The total number of event titles won by Missouri Tigers gymnasts this season, which includes a whopping 19 from Hannah Horton, 7 from Railey Jackson and 4 from Addi Lawrence and Kimarra Echols.
You like numbers? There’s a lot more where that came from!
- Over at Rock M+, we’re fully committed to turning over our emotional well-being to the transfer portal, for better or worse. Bounce on over to the basketball board to hit up our transfer portal forum, two tracking visitors from the weekend, and another keeping an eye on our colleagues in the SEC. Tap in!
