On Wednesday morning, the Chicago Bears formalized some coaching additions and promotions.
Press Taylor formally elevated to Offensive Coordinator
Taylor, 38, served as the passing game coordinator in 2025 on Ben Johnson’s staff. He replaces Declan Doyle who moved on to the Ravens. Taylor also had previous stops as the offensive coordinator in Jacksonville from 2022-24, and various offensive assistant coaching roles with the Eagles and Colts from 2013-21. It is assumed that Ben Johnson will continue as the primary playcaller, leaving Taylor as his main
offensive assistant.
Eric Studesville hired as Running backs Coach
Studesville, 58, most recently served as the Associate Head coach and running backs coach in Miami from 2022-25 under Mike McDaniel. His primary successes include 1,000-yard rushers in De’Von Achane and Raheem Mostert. He has been a position coach in the NFL dating back to 1997, where he served as an offensive quality control coach and offensive assistant for Dave Wannstedt in Chicago. Nearly 30 years later, he finds himself back in Chicago looking to build off the good work Eric Bieniemy did with D’Andre Swift, Kyle Monangai, and co.
Will Lawing hired as Offensive Analyst
Lawing, 40, returns to the NFL after a two-season stint as OC at Boston College. Previously, he had been an offensive position and assistant coach for the Patriots and Texans. Lawing was a former teammate and wide receiver of Ben Johnson at the University of North Carolina from 2004-07. Having worked with coaches Nick Saban and Bill O’Brien, Lawing now heads to Chicago to support Ben Johnson.
Isaiah Ford joins staff as Offensive Quality Control Coach
Ford, 30, starts his coaching career in Chicago after appearing in 32 career games as a wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins. He tallied 63 receptions for 681 yards and two receiving touchdowns during his career. Ford joins a WR staff headed by Antwaan Randle El and talented receivers like Rome Odunze, DJ Moore, and Luther Burden.
