The Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears have issued their second injury reports in advance of Sunday’s game at US Bank Stadium. Here they are (changes in bold):
Minnesota Vikings
- LT Christian Darrisaw, Knee, DNP
- RG Will Fries, Calf, Full
- OLB Jonathan Greenard, Shoulder, DNP
- S Theo Jackson, Concussion, Full
- RB Aaron Jones Sr., Shoulder/Toe, Limited
- C Ryan Kelly, Concussion, Limited
- QB J.J. McCarthy, Right Hand, Full
- S Josh Metellus, Foot, Limited
- TE Josh Oliver, Foot, Limited
- OT Justin Skule, Shoulder, Full
- S Harrison Smith, NIR/Rest, Full
- OLB Andrew Van Ginkel, Neck, Limited
For the Vikings, first a couple of discrepancies
to report. Apparently Jonathan Greenard was limited yesterday, but today did not practice according to revisions on the team website. Also, apparently Andrew Van Ginkel did not practice yesterday but was upgraded to limited on Thursday.
Beyond those clarifications, Will Fries was upgraded to full participant, as was J.J. McCarthy and Justin Skule. Christian Darrisaw is getting his typical Thursday off-day.
Overall, not sure if Jonathan Greenard will be available on Sunday or not, given the downgrade today, but we’ll see what tomorrow brings. Other than that, which is significant, I would expect everyone on the list except Ryan Kelly to be available on Sunday.
Chicago Bears
- S Kevin Byard, NIR/Rest, Full
- S Jaquan Brisker, Back, DNP
- LB T.J. Edwards, Hand/Hamstring, DNP
- DT Grady Jarrett, NIR/Rest, Full
- WR D.J. Moore, Shoulder, Limited
- WR Rome Odunze, Ankle, Limited
- CB Tyrique Stevenson, Shoulder, Full
- WR Jahdae Walker, Concussion, DNP
- TE Cole Kmet, Back, Full
- DE Dominique Robinson, Ankle, Full
- RB D’Andre Swift, Hip, Full
- CB Josh Blackwell, Concussion, Full
- LB Ruben Hyppolite II, Knee, Full
Lots of upgrades today on the Bears injury list, much as expected. However, starting safety Jaquan Brisker remaining out of practice today casts doubt on his availability on Sunday. The same is true of starting linebacker T.J. Edwards. Wide receivers D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze being limited today after not practicing yesterday probably means they’ll both play on Sunday but probably not 100%. Also, wide receiver Jahdae Walker not practicing again today raises doubts he’ll clear the concussion protocol in time for Sunday’s game.
Also, starting left guard Joe Thuney had a veteran rest day on Thursday but is expected to play on Sunday.
I’ll have the final update tomorrow along with injury designations for Sunday’s game. Stay tuned.
