The Yankees couldn’t break out the brooms on Sunday, missing out on a potential sweep when Will Warren allowed six runs in the first inning and the offense’s comeback attempt came just a bit too slowly. The team got to Garrett Crochet better than they have all season, and they continued chipping away against the Sox bullpen until they ran into their old frenemy Aroldis Chapman in the ninth, but they went down in order to end it two runs shy of forcing extras. While the sweep would’ve been nice, the team did
win three out of the four series against contenders that they had this month. Now, they’ll face a run against teams already well out of it to close out their year.
Now the road trip shifts over to Minnesota, where Nick Power will get us started for the day with a series preview on the Twins. Jake covers the Rivalry Roundup next, and John has the 2000 Diary’s latest entry. Peter and Jeremy will both take you through some divisional check-ins with the AL West and Central, respectively, and then I’ll be back to open up the mailbag.
