The app formerly known as Twitter isn’t nearly as fun or as useful as it once was. If you’re like me, you occasionally saddle over there, get a costed by a series of bots and spammers, and then log right back off. But occasionally, it still comes in sort of handy. For example, while scrolling this weekend, I came across the below handy graphic, showcasing, the University of Florida’s current state of gridiron futility.
I think it is worth noting that the University of Florida currently has a losing record against every SEC school which they would rightfully consider a rival and coeval except the University of Tennessee. That is of course, because the Hillbillies have been in even worse straits for even longer than the lizard people.
but I think the thing that truly puts a spring in my step and a song in my heart is the fact that Florida has a winning record against a mere six out of sixteen SEC schools. In historical terms, the McElwain/Mullen/Napier era has seen the Sunshine State Saurians slowly sink from the upper echelons of the Southeastern Conference to no higher than the sunburned, probably pierced midriff of the league.
Remember, the Spurrier and Meyer eras were the aberration, not the rule. And while it may still be said that nothing sucks like a big orange, it can also be noted that nothing crawls lower than a gator.
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
