Sunday at Lambeau Field (noon CT) — Hello Chicago Bears fans! The 3-1 Chicago Bears travel north for the latest chapter of the NFL’s oldest rivalry against the 2-2 Green Bay Packers. Chicago arrives without the back who just torched the Jets—Kyle Monangai is out with turf toe after his 30-carry, 146-yard, two-touchdown afternoon. The Bears will (probably?) once again go with Tyson Bagent under center while Caleb Williams (hamstring) remains questionable and is not expected to start.
D’Andre Swift
is set to shoulder the bulk of the ground game, with Roschon Johnson likely seeing a bigger role, against a Packers defense that has been generous on the ground. Green Bay has a starting quarterback, Jordan Love, so they’ve got that going for them along with the home-field advantage. Still, even with the missing key players for the Beloved, the Bears enter as slight favorites on the strength of their top-ranked rushing attack and a defense that has been stingy for three straight weeks. Below is our roundtable predicting the score, individual highlights like touchdowns, yardage, interceptions, and who we think goes off in this one.
Special note: Rest in Peace, Iron Mike. We will be thinking of you this Sunday.
Lester: My prediction for Sunday… to quote Clubber Lang, is “Pain.” The Bears will bully the Packers with their league-leading running game, and when the Packers least expect it, they’ll dial up a deep shot or two as they creep up to stop the run. These are two franchises headed in opposite directions, and after the Bears win, let’s call it, 28 to 17, the seat will get really warm for Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur.
Sam: It’s still difficult for me to rewire my brain to expect the Bears to annually compete against the team up north after years of having my heart ripped out. But this is a new era and I think Ben Johnson doesn’t want to rely on Wild comebacks. He wants dominance. I think the Packers will keep it close though and will put up a fight. They aren’t ready to throw in the towel on the season or quit on their coach. Bears 28, Packers 23
Gary: t’s hard to get past how lopsided the rivalry has been up until these past two seasons, so on the surface level it’s hard for me to speak confidently. But F it, this is a new era, and Ben Johnson owns the Packers. Bears win by at least two scores in a fashion similar to the Jets game. Bears 27, Packers 13.
TJ Starman: Emotions will be at the maximum for this one (mine at least) so you don’t know how what could go off the rails, but the Bears appear to clearly be the better team. I would expect Chicago to out-coach Green Bay, despite an exchange of a few haymakers both ways. Bears ultimately take a fairly close one, 24 – 20
GOOCH: I’m with TJ in that I am going to be all in my feelings for this game. Iron Mike and the 80s Bears were the team I grew up on. With that said, I think Ben Johnson will have the Bears focused and hungry this Sunday. I think the Bears are going to pound the rock – so two touchdowns for Swift and over 100 yards rushing. Roschan adds a short-yardage score and fifty yards himself. Tyson Bagent throws for just over two hundred yards in an efficient and effective outing and adds another touchdown, this time to Colston Loveland. As for the Bears defense they harry Love all day and, because they are down early, Love is throwing quite a bit. I see two sacks for Sweat, and one apiece for Booker and Motivated Dayo. Add in an interception for Muhammed, and it is the Bears in a rout: 42 – 10.
Superfans: Question: Who would win, Coach Ditka vs. a hurricane, but the hurricane is named Hurricane Ditka, and the battle between Da Coach and Da Hurricane took place in Lambeau Field while Da Bears and Packers were playing a Week 5 game in 2026?
Answer: It’s a trick question, because it would be a three-way tie, with Da Bears, the Midwestern weather anomaly, and Da Coach all declared winners, and the Packers the loser.
Josh: It’s going to be closer than it should be because it’s a divisional game. Call it 31-24, with both run games going off, but the difference being made by Chicago limiting explosive plays. Swift gets redemption.
Josh’s cats Arches & Denail: “meow, meow, meow meow, meow meow meow….meow meow.” Translation: Bears 5000 – Packers 0, powered by bapping Jordan Love, a strong run game, and Iron Mike looking down from Bears Heaven.
You said it, Arches & Denail! But what do you guys think the score will be on Sunday as the Bears head to Lambeu to take on the Pack? What picks and predictions do you have for the game? Tell us in the comments below!
