One of the highest-scoring players in college basketball this season was Utah point guard Terrence Brown, who is now in the transfer portal and drawing interest from Kentucky Basketball.
Head coach Mark Pope held a FaceTime call with Brown on Tuesday, the first day of the portal being officially open. Brown posted the news on Snapchat, signaling that the Wildcats could be a serious player in his recruitment.
The 6-3, 175-pound native of Minnesota averaged 19.9 points on 45.3% shooting (32.7% from deep),
3.8 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game last season for the Utes. He’ll be a senior next season and has just one year of eligibility remaining.
Brown actually began his career at Fairleigh Dickinson, where he was teammates with Ansley Almonor for the 2023-24 season, so that’s a connection in favor of Kentucky. Brown is currently ranked 23rd overall among transfer portal recruits by USA Today, 27th by 247 Sports, and 28th by On3.
Brown joins Dedan Thomas Jr. and Zoom Diallo as transfer point guards that the Wildcats are showing interest in.
