The offensive line is a strength for A&M this season and the guys on the interior are a big reason why. Let’s take a look at the road graders who will pave the way for the offense this season.
Who did we lose?
- TJ Shanahan served as a backup last season and logged 285 snaps while filling in at guard and center. He transferred to Penn State to compete for a starting role.
- Kam Dewberry was also a key reserve last season and played 261 snaps while rotating in at the guard spots. Dewberry is now at Alabama.
Who do we bring back?
- Armaj Reed-Adams returns for his 6th season of college football. After a stellar season at right guard a season ago, Reed-Adams was recently voted preseason first-team All-American by the Associated Press. He is also first-team All-Vibes thanks to his pre-game ritual of slamming a chair in the locker room.
- Junior Chase Bisontis is back and healthy after missing time late last season due to an ankle injury. He was selected preseason All-SEC (third-team by the media, second-team by the coaches).
- Center Mark Nabou was lost for the season by halftime of the first game last year, but the senior is ready to go for 2025.
What other names should we know?
- Koli Faaiu, who filled in at center after Nabou went down, is back this year. He is a key piece of the depth on the interior due to the experience he gained last season.
- Redshirt freshmen Isendre Ahfua and Blake Ivy are highly thought of and will provide valuable depth this year at the guard spots. Look for them to compete to start in 2026.
- We also heard from Mike Elko that tackle Trey Zuhn III has gotten reps at center. While it seems unlikely, him getting snaps there wouldn’t be a complete shock.
Overall Grade: A+
I don’t like to hand out an A+ very often, but this is probably the strongest unit on the team. Between Reed-Adams and Bisontis, A&M probably boasts the best guard tandem in the country. Both guys will project as day two NFL draft picks at worst. Losing Mark Nabou in game one was a big blow for this team last
year. There were times last year where A&M was having to trot out their 7th and 8th best guys on the O-line and the drop-off was evident. As far as depth goes, Koli Faaiu is a very solid backup center and Nabou has guard flexibility if needed. This is a big, physical group and they will set the tone for the Aggie offense this season. Expect to see clean pockets and a dominant ground game with the interior offensive line leading the way.
