With a career-high 30 carries for 146 yards and two touchdowns, Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai was a workhorse yesterday in their 23- 12 win over the New York Jets. He looked so good that no one even noticed him leave the game injured; in fact, he didn’t even realize he’d gotten hurt. “I just looked down at my hand, and I said, ‘Oh, that hurts,'” he said in his postgame presser.
Monangai was checked out today, and head coach Ben Johnson doesn’t seem too concerned. “We think he is going to be
ok,” he said today. “So we’ll see what it looks like as we go through the week here, but more of a day-to-day type deal.”
We may get more specifics at some point, but here’s the last play before he went to the sideline, and if you stop the clip when he’s lying on the field, his thumb does look like it could be distorted.
However, I’m no social media doctor, so this could be nothing at all!
In other injury news, Johnson said that Caleb Williams would miss Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers and is week-to-week with his hamstring, and Tyson Bagent would get the start.
