We’re officially halfway through the 2025 college football season, and as most of the Power 4 programs have dug into their conference schedule, we continue to see more Top-25 matchups across the league. There were six ranked matchups this weekend, which means there is plenty of change in this week’s AP Poll.
Starting with the hometown team, the Michigan Wolverines took an embarrassing loss at USC. Between undisciplined play, poor tackling, costly penalties and much more, Michigan never got much going.
As a result, Michigan fell out of the rankings entirely and will need to practically win out to make the College Football Playoff. USC re-entered the rankings at No. 20.
Around the Big Ten, No. 1 Ohio State added another ranked win to its resume, defeating former No. 17 Illinois, 34-16. Indiana pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the week, taking down former No. 3 Oregon, 30-20, to jump into the Top-5 at No. 3 overall. And Nebraska pulled off a late-win over Maryland, sneaking the Cornhuskers into the back of the rankings at No. 25.
Around the NCAA, newly No. 21 Texas picked up its biggest win of the season, taking down former No. 6 Oklahoma. Alabama held off Missouri to stay in the Top-10, moving up to No. 6 and dropping the Tigers to No. 16. Utah, which is now No. 23, knocked Arizona State out of the rankings following a blowout win. Finally, Florida State lost to Pitt at home to move to 0-3 in ACC play and drop from the rankings entirely.
The games continue to not disappoint, and the newly updated AP Poll shows the constant reshuffling that will be sure to continue as the season goes on. Here is the full Top-25 for this week.
