A report surfaced Sunday morning that San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle was ill. It was expected that he’d play, and that’s the case. Kittle is active.
Here’s a look at the inactive list:
FB Kyle Juszczyk
DE Nick Bosa
DT James Thompson Jr.
S Marques Sigle
QB Kurtis Rourke (3rd QB)
T Enrique Cruz Jr.
LB Tatum Bethune
Wide receiver Mike Evans, cornerback Upton Stout, and Kittle are all active.
No Sigle means rookie cornerback Ephesians Prysock will make his debut, likely on special teams since
Stout is playing. The team is thin at safety. Only Ashtyn Davis is on the active roster behind Ji’Ayir Brown and Malik Mustapha. Siran Neal played mostly cornerback in the preseason
Without Kyle Juszczyk, Brayden Willis and Jack Stoll are options at fullback and tight end.
Jordan James is also active. That could also be special teams-related. Then again, you wonder if Deebo Samuel will have a bigger role at wide receiver. Aside from Evans and Deebo, Jordan Watkins, Jacob Cowing, and Brandin Cooks are the options at wideout.
The defensive line rotation will consist of: Keion White, Mykel Williams, Romello Height, Khalid Kareem, Ogbo Okoronkwo. Then, at defensive tackle: Osa Odighizuwa, Gracen Halton, Naquan Jones, Sebastian Valdez
