CBS New York | Dave Carlin: Back to school season is a stressful time for many parents, as students receive a lengthy list of supplies needed for the new academic year. To help alleviate the stress for Bronx families, the New York Yankees held a resource fair at Yankee Stadium yesterday, providing free backpacks and supplies for 2500 students in the local Bronx school district. In addition to the Yankees, a number of other organizations were also in attendance, offering such things as CPR certification and eye exams.

A few weeks ago, he suggested that the New York Mets and Houston Astros were going to be major threats to poach Cody Bellinger from the Yankees this winter. This week, he suggested that the Yankees might be one of the teams interested in Mets first baseman Pete Alonso (along with the Rangers, Astros, Mariners, and Red Sox) after he opts out this winter. Unlike last winter, though, the fit here isn’t as clear as it was last winter, due to the emergence of Ben Rice.
