Hansi Flick says Barcelona could have Frenkie de Jong available again for their next La Liga match against Real Betis on Saturday, October 17th.
De Jong has not featured for the club this season due to a knee injury but is now back in full training and closing in on a comeback.
Flick has been asked about the current plan for De Jong and says he’s not too far off being able to play again.
“He might be available against Betis,” he told a press conference on Friday.
“His recovery is progressing well, there’s
no pain, but he needs time and we’re going to give it to him.”
The return of De Jong will give Flick yet another midfield option at a busy period in the season.
Barca face Getafe, Betis, Real Madrid and Alaves in La Liga in October, while they must also play Paris Saint-Germain and Galatasaray in the Champions League.
