Welcoming the New York Jets to Gillette Stadium, the New England Patriots will host their second straight home game on Sunday. It should be a cool but overall pleasant affair, weather-wise.
According to NFL Weather, the game will be played under clear and sunny skies with temperatures in the low 50s throughout and a wind chill of around 49°F. No rain is in the forecast, while wind bursts ar also not expected to be a factor.
The National Weather Service shares a similar projection. According to its
models, Sunday will be “sunny, with a high near 54” as well as a “[w]est wind 3 to 5 mph.”
Long story short, the weather conditions will not play a role in this contest. For the Patriots, who are regarded as a touchdown favorite, this should be seen as good news. The team’s biggest problem so far this season, after all, have been turnovers on the offensive side of the ball. Dry weather, however, removes one potential challenge for ball security from the equation and should therefore play in the favorites’ hands.
The Week 6 game between the Patriots and Jets at Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. ET.
