VfB Stuttgart head coach Sebastian Hoeneß has a long history with Bayern Munich, including his time as the manager of Bayern II.
What does that mean? Well, mostly that Hoeneß knows better than to think a Bayern Munich team that has not looked quite right of late is going to be easy to take advantage of.
“We’re playing at home again, where we have our normal routines. We’re looking forward to the game. This run of four consecutive away games is over, which is a good thing. We want to have a proper go at Bayern
at home. We want to put them under real pressure and play with a lot of bravery. I firmly believe we’re capable of being successful tomorrow,” said Hoeneß (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “I don’t think Bayern are going through a difficult spell. They had an incredibly tough away game in Berlin in the DFB Pokal, which they won. Just like us, they have a packed schedule, and sometimes you need other qualities to win games. In the end it was about advancing to the next round.”
Hoeneß will not get lured into thinking Bayern Munich might be susceptible to an upset. The coach is not a greenhorn when it comes to understanding the Bavarians and what can generally happen if anyone underestimates the German Rekordmeister.
