Indiana football is set to take on Miami in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Monday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Who do college football fans want to see
hoist the trophy?
SB Nation asked, the fans answered.
Of those surveyed, 83% of fans are cheering for Indiana in the title game, an overwhelming majority.
It makes sense, Indiana is playing for its first national championship in program history while Miami is playing for its sixth. The Hoosiers have long been the doormat of college football, owning the most losses in the history of the sport until being passed by Northwestern this season, while the Hurricanes are seeking a return to dominance.
It’s not necessarily an underdog story, Indiana is favored and widely picked to win the game after back-to-back blowout wins in the Rose Bowl and Peach Bowl to get here. One way or another, fans like the Hoosiers.
