After weeks of speculation, it is now official — Bayern Munich has signed PSV Eindhoven attacker Ismael Saibari. The 25-year-old Morocco international has been excellent in the World Cup and is expected to play a role centrally in Bavaria.
Bayern Munich released formal statements on the signing via its website:
Max Eberl, sporting director of FC Bayern: “We’re very pleased to have signed Ismael Saibari, one of the most exciting attacking players of this World Cup, for FC Bayern. Transfers like this don’t
happen on a whim, but are the result of forward-thinking work: It was crucial that we made our move early because we knew about Ismael’s abilities and were able to offer him a concrete future with us right from the start. Ismael Saibari will bring additional quality and unpredictability to our attacking play.”
Christoph Freund, sporting director of FC Bayern: “Ismael Saibari has won three consecutive Dutch championships with Eindhoven, has Champions League experience, and is now demonstrating at the highest level during the World Cup just how valuable he can be to a team. He’s versatile, intense, and bold in his play; he has exactly the hunger we want to see at FC Bayern, and his goal-scoring threat and mentality will benefit the team. Players like him are the reason fans come to the stadium.”
Ismael Saibari: “Even as a kid, you dream of signing a contract with a club like FC Bayern—everyone knows it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world. FC Bayern competes for the most important titles, like the Champions League, every year, and I want to win as many titles as possible here. FC Bayern’s style suits me; I can play my game here and will work hard every day to help the team. Coach Vincent Kompany played a big role in my decision—I’m really looking forward to working with him.”
It has been reported that Saibari will compete for playing time with Jamal Musiala and also provide a backup to Harry Kane. This should help Bayern Munich’s attacking depth ahead of the 2026/27 season.
