TCU Women’s Basketball is dancing into the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season, earning a No. 3 seed in the Sacramento Region. The Horned Frogs will be hosting the first two rounds in Schollmaier Arena, with TCU’s opening game coming against the 14-seed UC San Diego Tritons (24-8; 17-3 Big West) who earned a bid into the Big Dance with victory over Hawaii in the Big West Championship. After winning three games to reach the Elite Eight in the 2025 Tournament, the Horned Frogs have sights
set on even bigger achievements in 2026.
While it was previously revealed that TCU would be a top-four seed and hosting the First & Second Rounds, the unfortunate news from the Selection Sunday event was that the Committee did not place the Horned Frogs into one of the Fort Worth Regionals, being hosted at Dickies Arena just a few miles down University Drive from campus. Although TCU will not have the home town flavor for the full extent of its run, the Frogs are poised for a deep journey through the bracket. Led by unanimous First Team All-Big 12 members Olivia Miles & Marta Suarez, surrounded by veteran talent with vast NCAA Tournament experience, TCU has all the pieces to reach new heights in 2026. The other top seeds within TCU’s Sacramento Regional are No. 1 South Carolina Gamecocks (31-3; 15-1 SEC), No. 2 Iowa Hawkeyes (26-6; 15-3 Big Ten), and No. 4 Oklahoma Sooners (24-7; 11-5 SEC). If TCU wins on Friday over the Tritons the Frogs would face the winner of No. 6 Washington Huskies (21-10; 10-8 Big Ten) vs. No. 11 South Dakota State Jackrabbits (27-6; 14-2 Summit).
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, TCU is currently favored by 35.5 in its opening round matchup vs. UC San Diego in Schollmaier Arena. The Horned Frogs are +10,000 to win the National Championship with the going assumption the undefeated UConn blitzes through the entire bracket as the Huskies are heavy favorite at -270.
