The recognition for Maryland men’s basketball guard Diggy Coit keeps on coming.
The United States Basketball Writers’ Association recognized Coit as one of their USBWA Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week.
He finished with 41 points on 11-of-17 shooting, with no shot more important than the 3-pointer that pushed the Terps to overtime in a game they would eventually win against Mount St. Mary’s.
The award, given to five players weekly, was also given to Butler’s Michael Ajayi, Utah State’s MJ Collins, Kansas State’s PJ Haggerty, and Penn’s Ethan Roberts.
Coit had his quietest game of the season against No. 12 Gonzaga, finishing with six points on 2-of-7 shooting, including an 0-for-4 mark from beyond the arc, and four assists. He will look to rebound in the Terps’ final tournament game, against No. 8 Alabama. That game will begin Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. PST (12:00 a.m. Thursday EST) and be available to watch on TNT.
