The Syracuse Orange football team will be gearing up for another nationally televised game, which will be the program’s second in four games to begin the 2025 season.
Syracuse’s upcoming matchup versus the No. 12 Clemson Tigers will kick off on Saturday, September 20 at high noon. The game will air either on ABC or ESPN.
It will be the Orange’s first game in Death Valley since 2022, when the team narrowly
lost to the Tigers 27-21.
Syracuse is 2-10 all-time versus Clemson dating back to 1996, and the team has never beaten Clemson in a true road game. As some fans remember, the Orange’s only win against the Tigers this century came in a seismic upset in 2017.
That said, a portion of the fanbase might be sensing some blood in the water with this game, despite the difficult atmosphere and history not being on the Orange’s side in the series.
Clemson currently sits at 1-1 on the year, narrowly losing its season-opener at home to No. 3 LSU, then needing a double-digit comeback to take care of business this past weekend versus Troy. Up next for the Tigers is a tough test on the road this Saturday versus Georgia Tech.
On the other side, Syracuse is coming off a close win of its own — a seven-point victory in overtime at home versus UConn. The Orange will be back in the Dome this Friday night to face Colgate.
Syracuse last played Clemson in 2023, losing 31-14 in the JMA Wireless Dome. The Orange have lost the last six in the series.
