With Julian Nagelsmann stepping down as Germany’s head coach following the national team’s disappointing 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, attention has quickly shifted to who could lead the next era of German football. One name stands above the rest: Jürgen Klopp.

Klopp has long been viewed as the dream candidate to manage Germany. His charisma, tactical flexibility, and ability to build a winning culture have made him one of the most respected managers in world football. More importantly, he has consistently

elevated teams beyond expectations while developing young players into stars.

For many supporters, anything less than a semifinal appearance would probably feel disappointing. International football offers limited training time, and tournaments often hinge on injuries, individual moments, and favorable draws. Even the world’s best managers are not guaranteed success.

That said, Klopp’s biggest impact may come before Germany even kicks off its first EURO 2028 match. His energy, leadership, and ability to unite players and supporters could restore belief in a national team that has struggled to meet expectations in recent years. If he can establish a defined playing style and get the best out of Germany’s talented generation, the team should once again be considered among Europe’s elite.
