Aided by some very questionable officiating, the Arizona Cardinals were setup and sitting pretty inside the Denver Broncos ten yard line to start the second quarter.
Denver’s defense stuffed Bam Knight on back to back plays to setup a third and goal from the 11 where Jacoby Brissett had a guy coming wide open with Alex Singleton in coverage but the Knight bobbled and dropped it to bring out the field goal unit.
Broncos 6, Cardinals 3.
Denver’s offense could not find another first down with a pass to
Jaylen Waddle jumping backwards to try to break a tackle only to be hit by another defender just shy of the first down marker to force another three-and-out.
Brissett and the Cardinals capitalize on Denver’s ineffectiveness on offense with some wide open receivers. One with Alex Singleton getting beat really good on a route by Bam Knight. They would find themselves with a three and short just inside the red zone. The Broncos stuffed a quarterback sneak to bring up fourth and inches where they would go for it and get it anyway.
The Broncos red zone came up big after that to hold the Cardinals to another field goal attempt.
Broncos 6, Cardinals 6.
The big play finally came with Bo Nix being flushed out of the pocket and he jumped through the line to a wide open field where no one would come close as he ran for 62-yards for the game-breaking touchdown score.
Broncos 13, Cardinals 6.
