Former Professional Fighters League (PFL) Light Heavyweight champion Impa Kasanganay pulled off a dramatic comeback win tonight (Thurs., Aug. 21, 2025) at PFL 10, knocking out Andrew Sanchez in the third round with just 30 seconds left on the clock.
Kasanganay had a slow start against fellow UFC veteran Sanchez, who controlled much of the early action with sharp jabs, leg kicks, and well-timed takedowns. Sanchez dictated the pace through the first two rounds, staying a step ahead with crisp boxing
combinations and steady pressure, while Kasanganay struggled to find his trademark explosiveness. Heading into Round 3, Kasanganay needed a finish to avoid the upset — and he delivered.
Despite Sanchez’s continued success with his jab and clinch work, Kasanganay finally found his opening late in the final frame, landing a crushing right hand that dropped Sanchez to the canvas. He swarmed with follow-up strikes until the referee stepped in, completing a come-from-behind rally and reminding fans of his fight-ending power. At the time of the stoppage, Sanchez was up on the scorecards.

The win moves Kasanganay to 19-6, snapping a two-fight skid that included a 58-second knockout loss to Dovlet Yagshimuradov in the 2024 PFL championship (watch highlights). While it remains unclear if he’ll enter the Middleweight tournament again, the former champion is expected to seize any opportunity the league offers.
Meanwhile, Sanchez (14-8) suffered the sixth third-round knockout loss of his career — four of them inside the UFC. The 37-year-old is now riding a two-fight losing streak, raising questions about what comes next.
