Longtime New Orleans Saints DE Cam Jordan suffered a hamstring injury last Thursday during training camp practice that will require further evaluation. Saints head coach Kellen Moore revealed the news after Monday’s media session. As the team is just 4 days away from its first preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and five weeks out from the regular season opener against the Detroit Lions, Jordan’s timetable for a return is unclear at this point.
In June, the veteran edge rusher announced
that he would be returning to the Saints on a one-year deal for “one final season.” Jordan has been an ironman for majority of his NFL career, missing just two games throughout his first 15 seasons in the league. He currently owns the franchise sack record and has the potential to rank within top ten all time of the stat.
Last season, Jordan finished 2025 with 10.5 sacks, his seventh campaign to hit double digits. The defensive end also has 17 forced fumbles, 12 recoveries, and three interceptions in his career. There are many that expect Cam to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame eventually and his presence and leadership both on and off of the field would be sorely missed if this injury keeps No. 94 off of the field early this season.
