The Buffalo Bills are on the other end of Lake Erie this weekend, set to meet the Cleveland Browns for Week 2 of the 2026 NFL preseason. A week ago now, Buffalo smacked the Carolina Panthers 29-14 in the team’s preseason debut at the new Highmark Stadium.
This weekend? They’re due west for a classic AFC rustbelt matchup. This is the Bills’ only road game of the preseason, though they did take advantage of the opportunity in leveraging a joint practice with the Browns earlier in the week.
Head coach
Joe Brady initially stated that how long starters played this weekend would depend on how things went in the joint practice. If they saw all that was needed, then it’s likely the bulk of starters give way to those on the roster battling to make an impression towards Buffalo’s roster depth.
However, it’s clear that new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard is working overtime to install his system, which sees the Bills shifting toward an attack-based 3-4 scheme. It’s anyone’s guess if that, alone, plays a role in who plays on defense, and for how long today in Cleveland.
Of course everyone knows only one thing that matters at the end of the day, and it’s not the score. The Browns boast a stout defense led by a certain future first-ballot NFL Hall of Fame defensive end in Myles Garrett. That means Buffalo’s offense should tread lightly in a game meant to provide evaluation and practice.
With that, here’s your open thread for today’s preseason game between the Bills and Browns! As always, be kind to one another — and in all things… Go Bills!
