The Bearcat Report: After three games Binghamton has three newcomers averaging double figures. Demetrius Lilley (LaSalle, Penn State) has posted two double-doubles in losses to Syracuse and Niagara and leads the team with 15.5 ppg and 13.5 rpg.
Former JUCO big man Zyier Beverly has made 14 of 17 field goals (82.4%) while George Mason transfer Jeremiah Quigley (Bishop McNamara) is averaging 10.7 ppg and leads the team with five assists per game.
Seeing as how this is the first ever meeting between the two schools, the only real link is that Binghamton was the job then-Georgetown assistant Kevin Broadus took following the 2007 Final Four.
WHAT’S AT STAKE
Tonight’s matchup is all about getting ready for Clemson. After the good win in College Park, Georgetown has the chance to start 3-0 for the first time since the 2019 season.
Through two games Georgetown is struggling mightily from deep, shooting just 19.6 percent from 3-point range. Malik Mack is the only Hoya that has made more than one 3-pointer this season. It would be a good sign heading into the Clemson game for some of the Hoyas not named Mack to see the ball go through the net from deep.
