The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are back on the road Sunday as they travel to Charlotte to face the Carolina Panthers in an NFC South matchup. Tampa Bay is coming off another disappointing loss, while Carolina continues to find ways to win. So what are the oddsmakers thinking of the Week 7 matchup between the Bucs and Panthers?
Per FanDuel, Tampa Bay opens as a 3-point underdog on the road against Carolina.
Point spread: Bucs +3 (-104)
Point total: 44.5
Moneyline: Bucs +142, Panthers -168
The Buccaneers are
coming off a frustrating 26-19 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, dropping them to 1-5 on the season. Tampa Bay appeared to be in control with a 16-3 lead before Pittsburgh rallied in the fourth quarter. Despite forcing overtime with a late field goal, the Bucs couldn’t finish the job and suffered their fifth loss in six games.
Carolina, meanwhile, improved to 3-2 following a 25-14 road victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Quarterback Bryce Young threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Chuba Hubbard added 120 rushing yards and a score. The Panthers have now won three of their last four games and enter the divisional matchup with momentum on their side.
The Buccaneers will look to rebound against a Carolina team that has found its rhythm offensively. With questions remaining about Tampa Bay’s quarterback situation, oddsmakers are giving the Panthers the advantage at home.
The game between the Bucs and Panthers is scheduled for Sunday, October 25, with kickoff set for 1:00 PM ET at Bank of America Stadium.
