The Missouri Tigers are 5-0 coming in a No. 19 in the latest AP Top 25 poll and are one of 20 undefeated teams remaining in the country. Mizzou now holds the longest SEC home-winning streak at 15 consecutive games.
With one win away from bowl eligibility entering their bye week, the Tigers are in a good spot for the postseason — but Eli Drinkwitz has raised this program’s standards to a higher level than just making a bowl game. The goal for this team is to make it to the 12-team College Football
Playoff, but is it the expectation? After their first five games — Missouri has given reason to believe that it’s a possibility and the Tigers have been gaining some steam in some of the latest projections.
- Per the latest SP+ rankings, Mizzou comes in at No. 7 and currently has the second-best SEC title odds behind Ole Miss.
All of this is fun, but Mizzou still has business to take care of to reach their potential magic number to make the CFP— a 10-2 overall record. For now, let’s take a look at the latest bowl projections.

Perhaps the best thing about Alabama winning at Georgia is that a loss to the Crimson Tide doesn’t exactly hurt Missouri’s chances of making the CFP, but it obviously lessens the margin for error. A win over Bama would put Mizzou in the driver’s seat to be a playoff team. Let’s make it happen on October 11th, shall we? For now, enjoy the stress-free bye week.
