Rutgers men’s basketball has suffered its fifth portal departure of the season, as forward Dylan Grant is the latest Scarlet Knight to enter the transfer portal, according to The Knight Report. After spending two years at Rutgers, Grant will have two years of eligibility remaining to play elsewhere.
Grant joined Rutgers as a part of the 2024 recruiting class. While Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper were the five stars that had the spotlight on them, Grant was a highly rated recruit as well, being a consensus
four star and the No.109 player in the country according to Rivals. He committed to the Knights despite holding offers from Cincinnati, DePaul, Eastern Michigan, Loyola (Chicago), Oakland, Toledo, and VCU.
Over the past two seasons Grant spent with Rutgers, he appeared in 55 games and made 46 starts. Last season he appeared in 34 games and made 29 starts despite missing time with the flu in January. Grant, who shot a total of 44 percent from the floor, was second on Rutgers in terms of scoring, averaging 9.5 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game. While not being the worst three point shooter on the team, his shot from deep left a little to be desired as he only hit 31 percent of his shots from beyond the arc.
He now moves on to play the rest of his college ball elsewhere.
